If you’re anything like me, the holiday season is your only time to travel. I always try to jam a vacation into my two weeks off from work. This season, as a matter of fact this weekend, we’re taking a trip to San Francisco and I’m so excited. It’s not often that I get to enjoy Northern California. If you’ve been following Ciao Christiana, you know I have Southern Cali covered but I don’t get to explore the north as much. I plan to take this vacay like a champ…and a tourist. It’s a lot colder in the bay, so I’ll definitely be clad in my coat collection but my most important item of flair (I just watched Office Space last night, I had to.) will be my august handbag. If you don’t know, now you know, these bags are amazing!!
august is an LA based company that is inspired by travel. This collection of leather goods really does make me want to see the world one handbag at a time. The particular bag shown in this post is called The Peak. It’s inspired by a trip to Hong Kong, which is a place I’ve always wanted to visit. For now, I’ll just take it to San Francisco though. The Peak is the perfect carry-on. It’s compact, easy to carry and most important, it fits everything you’ll ever need on a plane, no matter the length of the flight. In this case I’ll be all set for my cool 45 minutes in air. I have my magazines and my Carry-On cocktail! What more will I need?!
Before I leave on a jet plane, I must tell you the very best part about august. While they are a company influenced by world travel, they also know how to take care of home. In partnership with Operation School Bell (learn more here) they give a backpack to an underserved youth in LAUSD for every august bag purchased. This is absolutely incredible to me. I wish more brands would adopt this generosity and sense of charity. The world would be a much better place. I love the idea of giving back, especially when it comes to children and especially during this time of year. So go get your august handbag, you can plan for your vacation and support the kiddos in one sweet move! It’s more than worth it.
